Elder Services
Lawyers Alliance helps low-income seniors receive a wide
range of social services, from food and shelter to information
and supportive services for family and other caregivers.
Clients include senior centers, meals-on-wheels providers,
community-based social service agencies, supportive housing
developers, and advocacy groups.
| The Council
of Senior Centers and Services (CSCS) sought
our help with an on-line joint venture with major food
suppliers and distributors to save money for nonprofit
groups that serve meals to low-income seniors. Pro bono
attorneys from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP negotiated
agreements to structure that relationship, and staff
attorneys from Lawyers Alliance provided nonprofit law
guidance. The project launched a food products
website that provides CSCS's 250 member agencies with
sizeable discounts on food purchases.
"Our partnership with Lawyers Alliance and Weil, Gotshal
& Manges LLP enables us to be prepared legally and strategically
to address the challenges and opportunities facing New
York City's senior population, and the nonprofit organizations
serving seniors." |
